Bembe is an Afro-Cuban rhythm form of Yoruban heritage.
This workshop is suitable for all levels. Beginners will appreciate the simplicity in the rhythms.
Experienced students will appreciate the opportunity to explore the polymetric 6/8
and "4-against-6" aspects of this piece.
Bougarabous, congas, and kpanlogos are the hand-drums (even djembes can be used),
and claves, bells, woodblocks, and shakers fill out the sounds of this ensemble.
