For little ones who love (or would like to try) to
play durms, rattles, and bells, move their bodies
and dance a beat! Emphasizing community spirit, fun,
creativity, body awareness, self-esteem, respect.
Our "Welcome Cheer" begins each class; drawing
pictures integrates the experience at the end. This
very popular class is a fun introduction to structured
group activitiy, social skills and creative expression.
|
Full adult participation is required, providing real
quality time for you and your child. (We find that the
parents truly enjoy this as much as the children do!
And because they've been given permission to explore
their own musicality and movement in a playful environment,
some are then inspired to try an adult class!) Usually
offered as a 5 or 6 week series of 1 hour classes. |
 |
All
instruments provided. Wear comfortable clothes, dress
in layers (for changing temperatures like from sitting
still or moving lots), a water bottle for the ride home
is recommended, and for adults who can't dance barefoot,
please bring indoor-only dance shoes or slippers.
|
|
Some children like to "dress up" for class
in whatever inspires them, and this is perfectly fine.
(One parent told me the other day that during the
ride home from class, her 4 year-old started planning
she'll wear the next week!) Other children dress down
to a bathing suit or diaper! And everything in between;
most people wear everyday, loose, comfy clothing.
Keep in mind that a dance floor can be slippery with
socks or tights on, so we remove those when we dance.
