African roots, Samba refers to the navel–the
umbilical connection–the connection to everything.
Samba rhythms are very upbeat and make us feel totally
alive.
To give voice to the excitement, Brasilians have developed
an amazing array of percussion instruments.
Samba–is celebrating life through rhythm–is an
inclusive activity–and we can get any group of people
in the groove!
A lot of instruments, too: Surdo, caixa, agogo,
cuica, tamborim, claves, pandeiro, rocar, reco-reco,
caxixi, ganza, xequere, triangulo, repenique…
